You can be a cover girl at any age. With the right touches of makeup, you can keep you looking glamorous as the decades go on. However, the wrong makeup can detract from your natural beauty. Here are a few makeup tips in putting on your best face forward whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, or 40s!

Makeup can be fun and experimental when you are in your 20s. If you have skin that is relatively blemish free, you can skip foundation and simply dab on concealer with our Jumbo Concealer Pencil to even out your skin tone in key areas. Include playful elements to your beauty routine! Play up your femininity using lip gloss in rosy pink and coral colors, or go for a dark vampy look with deep red and eggplant shades. Now is the time to claim a signature look for your eyes. A dramatic swipe of black liner on the top lash line and a coat of black mascara on your top and bottom lashes should be enough to call attention to your eyes.

Any woman in her 30s can tell you about that magical moment when she suddenly became more confident and comfortable in her own skin. If you haven’t already done so, now is a great time to find one great feature and focus on it. If you love your eyes, play them up with lengthy lashes using ultra-thick black mascara and leave your lips neutral. If you have a pout that just won’t quit, make those gorgeous lips the centerpiece of your look. Focus on intense lip colors with neutral undertones such as burgundy or sandstone. These colors can be worn daily, and brought to the next level for an evening makeup look simply by dabbing ultra-shiny gloss on top. If your skin is radiant, keep going bare faced. However, if you feel that you need to even out, select a light non-matte liquid foundation that matches your skin tone closely.

The 40s can be an exciting time to rediscover the thrill of makeup. At this age, most women’s biggest concern is making their skin appear fresh and firm. Contrary to popular belief, heavy concealer won’t achieve this. In fact, a thick concealer can actually accentuate creases and wrinkles. A better solution is a light, non-matte tinted moisturizer. This will add luminosity to the skin without looking caking on. Using a concealer that is one shade lighter than your natural skin under your eye area can neutralize the look of puffiness and dark circles. Instead of using the typical black liner, try colors like charcoal grey or brown for a subtle pop. To brighten up your eyes, swipe a white eyeliner like Crystal on your waterlines. For lips, try a slick lip gloss in clear or light pink for a plumper and softer look.
