Hanukkah is here, and for those who celebrate, that means, lighting the menorah, latkes and of course, Hanukkah parties galore!! Instead of just going with the usual black smoky eye, why not get a little festive and opt for a smoky eye with a beautiful blue and teal twist!!!

Just follow the steps below, as outlined by BH Cosmetics’ makeup artist, for this beautiful Hanukkah eye makeup look, and you will be sure to have everybody complimenting you all night!

1. Prep and prime the eye area using BH Cosmetics’ Eye and Lip Primer.

2. Apply the BH Eye Crayon in “Heavenly” to the upper lid and blend, slightly, with your finger into the crease.

3. Find the dark navy shade in the 60 Color Day & Night Palette or the 28 Color Smoky Eye Palette and apply into the outer corner and crease of the eye with a Blending Brush.

4. Using a Flat Blending Brush, apply a lighter shade of blue (from either palette), to the entire lid, and blend up into the crease.

5. Apply the BH Eye Crayon in “Crystal” to the inner corner and waterline.

6. Line the upper lash line with the Gel Eyeliner in “Atlantic” using the Angled Definer Brush.

7. Finish with some mascara and a nude gloss.

Read below to find out how you can create the sexy and very easily duplicated natural makeup look that was seen on the 2012 Victoria Secret Fashion Show runway last night.

Step 1: Prep and prime your face using  BH Cosmetics’ Anti Shine Serum all over the face and using BH Cosmetics’ Eye and Lip Primer on the appropriate areas.

Step 2: Conceal any blemishes and even out skin tone using BH Cosmetic’s Jumbo Concealer Pencil and Liquid Foundation.

Step 3: Choose the darkest brown and any shade of lighter brown from BH Cosmetic’s 28 Neutral Color Palette to softly line the eye on top and bottom. Use the darker shadow to lightly line the top and the lighter brown shade for the bottom. Smudge out.

Step 4: Highlight the cheeks and brighten with  BH Cosmetic’s Duo Blush Palette. Use the darker shade to contour the cheeks and the lighter color to highlight the cheekbone.

Step 5: Line your lips to create a fuller look using BH Cosmetic’s Waterproof Lip Liner and make them shine with BH Cosmetic’s Lip Gloss. Choose a lip liner that is closest to your natural lip and same for the lip gloss as this years fashion show was all about natural beauty.

Step 6: Awe and amaze everybody with your flawless look!!

Fashion and beauty trends in the upcoming winter season include bright colors for makeup and a svelte yet casual appearance in fashion. Here is our Winter trend forecast on cosmetics, clothes, accessories and shoes.

Makeup

Make your eyes noticeable with bright or metallic shades of your favorite color eye shadow. Choose shimmer eye shadows to give a soft glimmer without overdoing it. Black eyeliner will always be a beauty staple, but try jewel tones in green, purple and blue, such as our Eye Crayons in Huntress, Royal and Sapphire.

Add a little sparkle to either your eyes or your blush. Pink cream blush is perfect for creating a soft, dewy look. Another option is to add a touch of Vaseline on your cheeks and apply powder blush over it.

Winter lipstick colors include bright red and orange red, according to Harper’s Bazaar. Outline your lips for the desired fullness and then fill in with lipstick or a high-pigmented gloss. If you want to match the  gloomy weather or have fun on your night-out, go for dark plum and burgundy lip colors.

Tops

Longer, casual blazers that cover the hips look attractive on all body types. Choose a style that defines your shoulders but in a relaxed fabric, such as stretch cotton.

Boyfriend coats and cardigans with a V-neck are part of the upcoming winter fashion. Choose a tailored pea coat in navy blue for work and several casual over-sized cardigans in various colors for play.

Bottoms

Pencil skirts in pretty prints, including small polka dots, enhance your figure by creating a straight line from the waist down, without the bulky look of some other styles. Skirts at knee-length, and slacks with straight-cut legs that are a little snug at the ankles are in this winter. For casual wear, cigarette leg jeans show off your body and help your legs to look slender.

Shoes

Pumps with chunky heels and booties are perfect for the office and a night on the town.  Try gray, navy or black shoes for easy matching – one pair of shoes can go a long way!

Belts

The newest styles include wide belts in solids and designs. Wide belts help to give you an hourglass shape. Choose one with an attractive buckle to bring attention to your waistline.

Just like with fashion, hairstyles change with the season. Sure there are timeless styles that will always be chic, but there’s definitely something to be said for changing things up once in a while. It may seem a bit cliche to say, but a change of one’s look really can adjust their whole outlook on life. So, what’s your outlook going to be this fall?

The five hottest hairstyles for fall:

The textured braid – We’ve seen this look already during the spring, but it’s going to stick around through the fall and winter. Whether it’s fat and loose, french, or fishtail, this braid is messy and effortlessly chic. The best part is that it’s great with casual-wear, or for that off-duty model going-out look.

The faux bob – Love the look of the bob, but afraid to take the plunge? You don’t have to. A major trend is the flapper-inspired faux bob. It’s as simple as creating a few crimps in your hair with a curling or flat iron and folding your hair under, then pinning it for security. This looks amazing for a night out.

The middle part – Over the years we’ve seen the part shift from side-to-side and back again, but for the fall, that vintage, no bangs, middle-part look is back. This goes great with dark eye makeup for a mod look or with more subtle makeup for an early 1970s vibe. It’s amazing how simply shifting your part can make your whole face look different.

The 1960s bob cut – In keeping with the vintage trend, a popular cut for fall is the mod bob. For this look, there should be a lot of volume at the crown. This cut works with bangs or no bangs. It’s all about texture and movement; you don’t want the hair too flat or straight. This cut works well with modern or vintage fashion, but ups the edginess when combined with dark eye makeup and a pale lip.

Thick, textured bangs – As mentioned before, bangs are still around. This fall, however, they are thicker and more textured. Think early ’90s, rather than ’60s here. These bangs look great with long, straight-ish hair that’s not too groomed. It’s a very rock ‘n’ roll look. Bangs for the fall are about being wild and carefree. Prim and proper was so spring 2012.

Paris Fashion Week has come and gone, ending the world’s semiannual fashion extravaganza. If you weren’t blessed to be in Paris to attend this year, you can still get a glimpse of runway fashion and makeup. The week was characterized by a lot of neutrals, icy pastels, 1980s drama, and innovative shapes.

Fashion trends

Balmain stuck to neutrals with a 1980s edge – shoulder pads were spotted on many pieces!  The detailing was intricate, revealing crocheted seashells. Balenciaga also stuck to a cool palette with lots of texture. The skirts were the most striking feature of this collection with front and back reversed. Carven also stuck mostly to neutrals with plenty of fun cutouts. Christian Dior juxtaposed playful airiness with neon brightness.

Hair and makeup trends

Hairstyles were all over the map this week. Balmain, Christian Dior, and Damir Doma pulled hair back severely in tight buns. Felip Oliviera Baptista let hair loose around the shoulders. Sonia Rykiel, Ann Demeulemeester, and Vanessa Bruno parted hair straight down the middle for a flowerchild vibe in keeping with the spring theme. The craziest hair award goes to Yohji Yamamoto as models wore bright yellow feathers on their heads.

Makeup ranged from understated to wild. Balmain and Balenciaga opted for makeup as neutral as their clothing palettes. Christian Dior glammed it up with brightly colored blue and green eye lids. Vivienne Westwood’s models sported heart faces done with white makeup.

Take cues from Paris Fashion Week, and have fun with neutrals and texture. Neon and pastels are also continuing to be a  must for spring next year!

Look 2: Ultra Diva

To achieve this glowing, glamorous look begin by defining your eyes using a Blending Brush and a neutral brown shade from the 88 Color Neutral Eyeshadow Palette. While applying, make sure your brush strokes go out toward the temple to create the sexy cat-eye shape. Using a smaller brush, such as the Small Smudge Brush, apply a deeper color around the entire contour of the eye and blend. Follow by outlining the eyes with the black eyeshadow from the palette. Bronze the cheeks using a bronzer such as the Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze. For the lips, apply a  nude-pink color such as the Lip Gloss in Peace, Love & Mod.

Although the weather isn’t cooling down anytime soon (for SoCal anyway!), the Fall season for beauty and fashion is taking center stage. The forecast for Fall 2012 is one of contrasts. A play of contrasting darks and lights will be evident in both fashion and beauty. Here are some of the new looks you can expect to see in the upcoming months:

Eyes: Boldness is projected for eyes in both traditional smoky black or in striking metallic blue, purple or green. To balance the vivid eyes, eyebrows are bolder and fuller. Our Smoky Eye Palette could be your right-hand man (or woman) for the rest of the year.

Cheeks: To contrast the dramatic eye, give cheeks a subdued look. Soft pink cheeks are meant to portray a youthful glow. Red blush is also creeping its way into the beauty scene, which you can use for a stand-out, sultry look.

Lips: Lips continue the muted look in hues of pink and coral, like the ones in our 32 Color Lip Gloss Palette. Designer Tommy Hilfiger showcased a reverse image by showing strong, bold lipstick with minimal makeup, especially for eyes.

Hair: Intricate and fun ponytails are accessorized with headbands covered with flowers, feathers and anything that sparkles. Making a come back is the vintage style of finger waves and pin curls. This style can be adapted to almost any hair length. Summertime braids will also make an easy transition into Fall!

Fashion: Rraid your grandmother’s closet as there you will see a retro mix of floral and lace, knobby tweeds and shawls. Even the pant suit is back, both cropped and flared or as a layered ensemble. Several designers are showing a military presence in their collections with peacoats and epaulettes. Fall fashion colors include deep purple, burnt orange with black accents and peach is the new neutral.

The upcoming season in fashion and beauty provides bold colors contrasting with muted hues. Don’t be afraid to mix and match these new trends to make your own fall statement!

Emma Stone: She has a unique sense of style that tends toward menswear-inspired clothes during the day with riskier, bold but beautiful evening-wear. Stone favors simple, pretty makeup that highlights her best features, emphasizing her open, friendly face and eyes that sparkle with humor. We also give her props for trying different colored eyeliner that make her eyes pop. It’s these qualities that attract the public, as well as interested directors and guarantee we’ll be seeing her for years to come.

Rihanna: She’s known for music that’s assertive and upbeat, going hand in hand with her style and attitude. From long hair to short hair, and blonde to fire red, all eyes are on her ever-changing looks. She wears colors loud and the heels dangerously high. She strides in confidence no matter what she’s wearing, which is why she’s on our top 5. It’s no surprise that we can’t wait to see what she’s going to look like and do next.

Blake Lively: Her love for fashion shows in her array of beautiful and flattering ensembles. The actress and newest face of Gucci honed her style sense on Gossip Girl, taking advantage of the variety of designers available. Believing fashion is an expression of self, Lively avoids stylists as she prefers her fresh, personal style, dressing herself often. Her makeup is usually worn natural, and seen with red lips once in a while. Lively makes bold choices but keeps them understated, a characteristic which translates to her recent acting roles.

Scarlett Johansson: She distinguishes herself by branching out from acting – she’s put out a record and is now looking to direct. An advocate for Dolce and Gabbana, you will see her almost exclusively in their clothes in the evenings, and it’s a fabulous match. She manages to always look like the clothes were made especially for her since they fit so well and effortlessly. You will usually see her on the red carpet with smoky eyes in black or bronze eyeshadow and natural lips.

Jordin Sparks: This singer, actress and sweet-natured beauty caught the eye of industry execs after winning American Idol. She’s been the face of beauty companies and has designed a fashion line with Wet Seal. With a youthful, flattering fashion sense, she favors eye-catching colors, silky fabrics and makeup that highlights big, beautiful eyes, great cheekbones and flawless skin. Sparks’ has begun acting, appearing on TV shows and transitioning to movies with a starring role in her first major-motion picture, “Sparkle”. Sparks’ style guarantees the public will watch as her career soars.

Nikki Reed Look 1:

Eyes: A little bit can go a long way with this classic and soft eye look. Take our 28 Color Smoky Eye Palette and use the neutral cream shade on your lids for a smoother and brighter appearance. Then, line the eyes with a matte black shadow.

Cheeks: Use a natural, rosy-toned blush and lightly dust on the apples of the cheeks using our Angled Blush Brush. This shade can be found in the 10 Color Professional Blush Palette.

Lips: Her lips are very matte and natural. Try using the Lip Liner in Earth to fill in the lips and achieve the light earthy tone.

Nikki Reed Look 2 (doesn’t she look like Keira Knightley here?):

Eyes: This romantic look is perfect for a dinner party or date without doing too much. Line the eyes with a black shadow from the 28 Color Smoky Eye Palette and blend out with the golden sparkly shade around the contours of the eyes. Lips: On the lips, apply a neutral shimmer gloss, such as the Lip Gloss in Office Queen to complete this look with light glimmer.
