Products Used:

-60 Color Day & Night Palette (plum in crease, gold over lid/inner corner using a Blending Brush)

-Party Girl Palette (purple shimmer shade for bottom lid using a Smudge Brush)

-Eye Crayon in “Royalty” (apply to the upper lash line and waterlines after applying eye shadow using an Angled Definer Brush)

Tips:

-For a more sophisticated look, using metallic gold or silver shades will glamorize your eyes without the hassle of applying loose glitter.

-A very royal color scheme is fun to use for the holidays, which is why we chose to use gold and purple.

-This color scheme is very versatile and suits nude, hot red, or even the daring deep plum lip color!

4. Using a Flat Blending Brush, apply a lighter shade of blue (from either palette), to the entire lid, and blend up into the crease.

5. Apply the BH Eye Crayon in “Crystal” to the inner corner and waterline.

This year focused much less on shimmer and glitter and, relied a lot on the models natural beauty, opting for a natural sun-kissed look with a delicate cat eye and lightly done lips.

Read below to find out how you can create the sexy and very easily duplicated natural makeup look that was seen on the 2012 Victoria Secret Fashion Show runway last night.

Step 1: Prep and prime your face using BH Cosmetics’ Anti Shine Serum all over the face and using BH Cosmetics’ Eye and Lip Primer on the appropriate areas.

Step 2: Conceal any blemishes and even out skin tone using BH Cosmetic’s Jumbo Concealer Pencil and Liquid Foundation.

Step 3: Choose the darkest brown and any shade of lighter brown from BH Cosmetic’s 28 Neutral Color Palette to softly line the eye on top and bottom. Use the darker shadow to lightly line the top and the lighter brown shade for the bottom. Smudge out.

Step 4: Highlight the cheeks and brighten with BH Cosmetic’s Duo Blush Palette. Use the darker shade to contour the cheeks and the lighter color to highlight the cheekbone.

Step 5: Line your lips to create a fuller look using BH Cosmetic’s Waterproof Lip Liner and make them shine with BH Cosmetic’s Lip Gloss. Choose a lip liner that is closest to your natural lip and same for the lip gloss as this years fashion show was all about natural beauty.

Step 6: Awe and amaze everybody with your flawless look!!

Just because the weather outside is frightful, it doesn’t mean your skin has to be! Cold weather, limited sunlight and long days spent indoors can wreak havoc on your holiday glow. Check out these DIY holiday skin treatments using commonly used ingredients during the season. Try these on your own or package them for a unique holiday gift!

Honey and Brown Sugar Body Scrub

With all of the baking necessary this time of year, the ingredients for this scrub may already be in your cupboard. Brown sugar exfoliates the skin while honey moisturizes. This scrub is perfect to get rid of dead, dry skin and bring a holiday glow to hands, feet and everything in between. Slather this scrub on wet skin every few days. Rub into skin in a circular motion and rinse.

Ingredients:

3 T. brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1 t. honey

Mix brown sugar and water together until they form a paste. Whisk in honey. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to seven days.

Apple Juice Toner

Visits to the apple orchard are popular this time of year. On your next trip, pick up a couple of extra apples to use for this juicy facial toner. The acid in apple juice cuts grease and helps clean pores. Use this toner day and night for a luxurious, natural clean. After washing your face, pour a small amount on a cotton pad. Swipe over face avoiding the eye area.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup apple juice
4 T. witch hazel

Mix thoroughly. Pour into a clean bottle. Store at room temperature for up to ten days.

Coffee and Cocoa Face Mask

Curl up in front of the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa and treat your skin to this coffee and cocoa mask. The caffeine in these ingredients decreases puffiness around the eyes and brings a noticeable glow to the skin. When the mask is ready to use, apply to dry, clean skin. Let the mask set for 15 minutes. Press a wet washcloth to your face to loosen the mask, then rinse with warm water.

Ingredients:

4 T. finely ground coffee
4 T. unsweetened cocoa powder
8 T. almond milk, coconut milk or plain yogurt

Mix coffee and cocoa powder. Add milk or yogurt to form a smooth paste. Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to seven days.

Country music star Taylor Swift can’t seem to get time off the red carpet or from winning awards! Her signature special event look has changed from curly hair to straight hair, but has kept her bold red lips, and long sequined dresses. We love her for sticking to what works best on her, so we’re going to give you a makeup breakdown of 2 of our favorite looks. Here are instructions on how to re-create them using just a handful of products:

Look #1: This look is very simple for day or night, and focuses on the eyes and lashes.

1. Taylor Swift’s fair skin would require a foundation shade such as the BH Liquid Foundation in Light Olive. Begin by applying the foundation over the entire face using a Foundation Brush and blending in using your fingers or a cosmetic sponge.

2. Always apply the Eye and Lip Primer to lids and lips for color longevity!

3. Using a Flat Blending Brush, bring the gold shade from the 26 Shadow Blush Combo Palette from the inner corners of the eye and over the entire lid space and blend in. This type of brush is perfect for mono color eyeshadow looks since the large flat surface makes it easy to fill & blend in to the entire lid space in one stroke. Apply the shade to the lower lid using the brush’s thin wide tip.

4. Create a light cat eye shape with the Liquid Eyeliner by bringing it over the lash line from the inner to the outer corner.

6. Don’t forget our lashes in “Natural” and apply to the lash line. Use mascara after for a more natural look.

7. Pop a natural blush shade from the same palette to the apples of the cheeks using the Deluxe Blush Brush.

8. Use a neutral lip gloss such as the Lip Gloss in Office Queen or Plain Jane, and you’re done!

Look #2: You can take the simple look above and quickly transform it for an ultra glam night-out. A look can be transformed just by switching up a lip or blush color such as this elegant yet dramatized look worn by Taylor Swift.

1. Touch up your foundation if necessary!

2. Apply an additional coat of mascara to the top lashes and this time, make sure to also apply to the bottom lashes.

3. Using a Small Smudge Brush, apply the dark brown eyeshadow from the 26 Shadow Blush combo palette to the outer corners of the eyes.

7. Give more color to your cheeks with a rosy shade from the same palette using the Angled Blush Brush.

8. Line the lips with the Waterproof Lip Liner in Retro, and make sure to define the corners on the upper lip to create the perfect cupid mouth shape. Top with the Lip Gloss in Classy Gal.

That’s it! Comment below with your how-to requests!

Hey BH readers! Rissrose2 here to share how I’m going to do my Thanksgiving makeup!

Since we are around family during the holidays, I tend to tone down all the flashy make up, but still try play with some color! My must-wear colors for the Thanksgiving holiday are plums, greens and of course copper & orange. I used the 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette 5th Edition since it’s the most neutral palette, but still has vibrant colors to really amp up the look. This palette has a shimmer, almost metallic copper color which is what I placed on my lid, and a sparkly brown shadow onto my outer V. Under my eyes, I applied a vibrant purple layered with a subtle plum just to enhance my eye shape, plus to add slight color!

The lips are kept simple with Office Queen (my favorite “go-to” lip gloss). To contour my face, I used Tahitian Tan and used the same copper eyeshadow on the apples of my cheeks for a glow!

When doing my makeup during the holidays, I think about the family pictures we’ll be taking. I like to look classic! I don’t want to look back years from now, and be like WhaaaAAAAA!?!?! For some reason I think of 80s weddings or 90s weddings.. they are so dated with the hair and makeup! But not this look – add a little shine and color without “dating” it!

Demi Lovato has been receiving a ton of praise for her makeup while judging X Factor (for those that don’t watch it, you’re missing out!). Since we’re huge fans of her, we’ve decided to write a piece on how to re-create some of Demi’s makeup looks.

Look 1: Subtle Glam

This is a great, simple day time look. Fill in your eyebrows with our Automatic Eyebrow Pencil or your fave eyebrow powder, and apply a natural looking set of false eyelashes, topped with a coat of mascara and a little bit of eye liner. To create a sublt sun-kissed look, puff of bronzer on the apples of your cheeks. For these simple steps, the False Eyelashes in Natural and the brand new BH Eye Crayon in Shadow can be used. This will help to define your eyes without having to do too much or apply any eye shadow at all! To complete this look, apply a nude gloss such as the BH Lip Gloss in Office Queen.

Look 2: Ultra Diva

To achieve this glowing, glamorous look begin by defining your eyes using a Blending Brush and a neutral brown shade from the 88 Color Neutral Eyeshadow Palette. While applying, make sure your brush strokes go out toward the temple to create the sexy cat-eye shape. Using a smaller brush, such as the Small Smudge Brush, apply a deeper color around the entire contour of the eye and blend. Follow by outlining the eyes with the black eyeshadow from the palette. Bronze the cheeks using a bronzer such as the Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze. For the lips, apply a nude-pink color such as the Lip Gloss in Peace, Love & Mod.

We all know that no two faces are alike. Every woman has attractive features that can be brought to life through makeup, without looking like you have makeup on. Knowing how to look natural in makeup revolves around understanding how to use your products to accentuate your best traits is a matter of following a few simple rules.

1) Start with well moisturized skin. Having dewy skin makes it appear that you are glowing from the inside out, plus well hydrated skin is the perfect canvas for applying makeup. If you don’t already have a moisturizing routine, find one that is right for your skin type and stick to it. Skin regimens will vary depending on whether you have oily, dry or combination skin. Moisturizing with a heavy, oily product can cause unwanted breakouts so be sure to find a light, hypoallergenic moisturizer that will be friendly to your skin.

2) For your first step of makeup application, conceal all blemishes and dark circles. Any red areas can be concealed with a green tinted concealer. Green tricks the eye into neutralizing the red blemishes. Dark areas can be camouflaged with a light concealer. Choose a shade that is close to your own skin tone and gently apply it to affected areas. If you have dark or reddish circles around your eyes, try our Correcting Eye Primer – it preps & primes!

3) Learning how to contour your face allows you to accentuate features you love and draw the eye away from other parts of your face. To create the appearance of higher cheekbones, use a foundation that is two to three shades darker than your skin tone to create a shadow just under your cheekbone, or simply use darker powder. Use a lighter foundation or powder right on top of your cheekbones for instantly higher looking, contoured cheekbones. Use these same methods to make your nose look slim and straight. Use a darker color on either side of your nose with a highlighting color straight down the center to give your nose a lift in under two minutes. Widen a narrow nose by using a darker tone in the center and highlighting either side. Try our Contour and Blush Palette for this technique.

4) Everyone looks better with clear, bright eyes. To accentuate your eyes, line the inner rims with a highlighting pencil. This draws attention straight into your eyes instead of around them, making them appear much larger. Highlight the inner corners of your eyes with a shimmery white eye shadow. If you feel your eyes are set too far apart, make them appear closer together by lining the outside corners of your eyes with a light pencil and the inside corners with a dark pencil. Reverse this formula for eyes that are set farther apart. Those with small eyes should avoid using too much product on the lower lashes. Apply a bold color on the upper center lash line to make the eyes pop.

Tell us: What are you tricks in making your makeup look natural?

For those that don’t like too much change, it’s okay to stick with a style that suits you best. Just make sure you spice it up once in a while by making little tweaks in your makeup routine. This is how J.Lo plays off her classic style of eye makeup.

Look 1: Apply a shimmery blue/grey shade from the Party Girl Palette over the entire lid and blend out well using a Blending Brush. Blend toward the temple and up toward the eyebrow for more intensity. In this look, a small amount of black eye shadow was applied to the upper and lower lash lines. Then, add spiky style lashes such as the BH False Lashes in Flirt.

Look 2: This look appears to be almost the same as the one above; however, more black eyeliner was added around the entire eye as well as to the waterline of the eye. Whenever black eye liner is applied to the waterline, drama is created, making the eyes appear much more striking. Try our Gel Eyeliner in Onyx. Or, draw a thicker line using black eyeshadow. Also, apply extra white shimmer from the Party Girl Palette to the inner corners for highlight.

What are some of your tips in changing-up your usual style of makeup?
