New Year’s Eve Makeup Tutorial

Time to take out those little black dresses and high heels because… New Year’s Eve is right around the corner!

If you have a special event or, are just hosting a nice night at home with friends, why not glam things up a bit with our beautiful New Years’ Eve makeup look!

Products Used:

-60 Color Day & Night Palette (plum in crease, gold over lid/inner corner using a Blending Brush)

-Party Girl Palette (purple shimmer shade for bottom lid using a Smudge Brush)

-Eye Crayon in “Royalty” (apply to the upper lash line and waterlines after applying eye shadow using an Angled Definer Brush)

Tips:

-For a more sophisticated look, using metallic gold or silver shades will glamorize your eyes without the hassle of applying loose glitter.

-A very royal color scheme is fun to use for the holidays, which is why we chose to use gold and purple.

-This color scheme is very versatile and suits nude, hot red, or even the daring deep plum lip color!

Hanukkah Eye Makeup Look

Hanukkah is here, and for those who celebrate, that means, lighting the menorah, latkes and of course, Hanukkah parties galore!! Instead of just going with the usual black smoky eye, why not get a little festive and opt for a smoky eye with a beautiful blue and teal twist!!!

Just follow the steps below, as outlined by BH Cosmetics’ makeup artist, for this beautiful Hanukkah eye makeup look, and you will be sure to have everybody complimenting you all night!

1. Prep and prime the eye area using BH Cosmetics’ Eye and Lip Primer.

2. Apply the BH Eye Crayon in “Heavenly” to the upper lid and blend, slightly, with your finger into the crease.

3. Find the dark navy shade in the 60 Color Day & Night Palette or the 28 Color Smoky Eye Palette and apply into the outer corner and crease of the eye with a Blending Brush.

4. Using a Flat Blending Brush, apply a lighter shade of blue (from either palette), to the entire lid, and blend up into the crease.

5. Apply the BH Eye Crayon in “Crystal” to the inner corner and waterline.

6. Line the upper lash line with the Gel Eyeliner in “Atlantic” using the Angled Definer Brush.

7. Finish with some mascara and a nude gloss.

Taylor Swift Makeup How To

Country music star Taylor Swift can’t seem to get time off the red carpet or from winning awards! Her signature special event look has changed from curly hair to straight hair, but has kept her bold red lips, and long sequined dresses. We love her for sticking to what works best on her, so we’re going to give you a makeup breakdown of 2 of our favorite looks. Here are instructions on how to re-create them using just a handful of products:

Look #1: This look is very simple for day or night, and focuses on the eyes and lashes.

1. Taylor Swift’s fair skin would require a foundation shade such as the BH Liquid Foundation in Light Olive. Begin by applying the foundation over the entire face using a Foundation Brush and blending in using your fingers or a cosmetic sponge.

2. Always apply the Eye and Lip Primer to lids and lips for color longevity!

3. Using a Flat Blending Brush, bring the gold shade from the 26 Shadow Blush Combo Palette from the inner corners of the eye and over the entire lid space and blend in. This type of brush is perfect for mono color eyeshadow looks since the large flat surface makes it easy to fill & blend in to the entire lid space in one stroke. Apply the shade to the lower lid using the brush’s thin wide tip.

4. Create a light cat eye shape with the Liquid Eyeliner by bringing it over the lash line from the inner to the outer corner.

6. Don’t forget our lashes in “Natural” and apply to the lash line. Use mascara after for a more natural look.

7. Pop a natural blush shade from the same palette to the apples of the cheeks using the Deluxe Blush Brush.

8. Use a neutral lip gloss such as the Lip Gloss in Office Queen or Plain Jane, and you’re done!

Look #2: You can take the simple look above and quickly transform it for an ultra glam night-out. A look can be transformed just by switching up a lip or blush color such as this elegant yet dramatized look worn by Taylor Swift.

1. Touch up your foundation if necessary!

2. Apply an additional coat of mascara to the top lashes and this time, make sure to also apply to the bottom lashes.

3. Using a Small Smudge Brush, apply the dark brown eyeshadow from the 26 Shadow Blush combo palette to the outer corners of the eyes.

7. Give more color to your cheeks with a rosy shade from the same palette using the Angled Blush Brush.

8. Line the lips with the Waterproof Lip Liner in Retro, and make sure to define the corners on the upper lip to create the perfect cupid mouth shape. Top with the Lip Gloss in Classy Gal.

Makeup How To: Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez is everywhere – on the news, radio, fashion mags, and Justin Bieber’s heart. Her talent and relationship to the Biebs have made her famous, but we’re also giving her credit for always having flawless makeup and hair. Here are two of our Selena-makeup-faves and how to re-create her looks!

Look 1: Tangerine & Peach

Light touches of color make your skin-tone look more lively and create a natural glow.

Eyes: Take the 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette 5th Edition and apply a soft shimmer eyeshadow in taupe over the entire lid. Sweep a coral shade from the palette over the eye lid and crease. Then, line the eyes with a dark brown or charcoal black shadow and blend well for a soft application.

Face: Apply the coral blush from the 10 Color Professional Blush Palette to the apples of your cheeks. You can blend using a pale pink blush to make your cheeks look more peachy.

Lips: From the 66 Color Lip Gloss Palette, apply the soft pink-coral lip color using a Lip Liner Brush.

Look 2: Sultry Selena

This light smoky eye application is a step up from the neutral look shown above as it portrays a little more drama.

Eyes: Using the same 5th Edition Palette, apply a medium taupe over your eye lid. Then, starting from your lash line, blend a charcoal black shade and work your way from the lash lines into the crease, and slighty extend the shadow out toward the temples. Keep applying to your desired intensity, and sweep a dark brown shimmer on your crease for an extra pow. Also, you can add white to the inner corners of your eyes to brighten.

Face: Make your cheeks glow using our Bronzing Powder in Golden. This is a versatile color and can work on any skin tone.

Lips: Finish your look with a nude Lip Gloss in Plain Jane or Peace, Love & Mod.
