Kate Bosworth definitely strayed from her comfort zone while playing dress up at the Met Gala. The actress, best known for her portrayal as a surfer in the hit film "Blue Crush," went for high-fashion in her dark and feathered frock.

Bosworth paired her deep red and black mini-dress with equally sultry makeup. The actress matched her lip color to the deep red, almost purple feathers that were along the neckline of her gown. The lips totally stood out and gave her a runway look. Because the lip color was so deep and intense, Bosworth kept the rest of her cosmetics simple. She added a touch of pink blush with peach undertones on her cheeks using makeup brushes and applied deep eyeliner on her upper and lower lids using a fine liner brush. She then applied a bit of mascara to finish off this award-winning style.

The actress's dark makeup worked effortlessly with her sassy halter mini dress that was made entirely out of feathers. The color transcended from a deep red/purple at the neckline and into jet black fine feathers just above her knees. Bosworth paired the look with black strappy sandals, a deep purple envelope clutch and a few blinged-out bangles.
