Most fashionistas have their favorite makeup trends to wear for special events, but what about styles that work every day? Sure, that smokey eye looks great on dates, but it may be less appropriate at the office or school. Glamour Magazine recently gave its best advice for perfecting makeup that works on any occasion, while still helping ladies stand out.

Banish dark circles
For this lovely makeup, you'll first need to hide any imperfections such as the bags under your eyes you got while cramming all night for that final. Some girls might have heard that the trick to perfect blending starts with finding a concealer that is one shade lighter than their complexion, though Glamour experts disagree. Instead, a makeup artist reports it's all about how the product is applied.

"Choosing a shade lighter is a myth," the artist told the publication. "Too-white circles under your eyes look like you wore goggles while tanning. [Instead] apply [concealer] in little stripes with a pointed concealer brush. Then blend using your ring finger for the lightest touch, and don’t tug on delicate under eye areas."

When your blemishes and dark circles are under wraps you can move on to the more fun beauty steps.

Blushing beauty
The makeup expert reports using a cream-based blush in the winter is a must, as it not only looks more natural than powder options, but it also blends easier - perfect for a girl on the go. When you find a suitable shade - think raspberry - start by putting a dab of the product on the apples of your cheeks and then use your fingers to blend it up and out toward your temples for a natural vibe.

Get that glow on your eyes
To help enhance your beauty during daytime activities, start by finding a gorgeous illuminated cream eyeshadow. Ladies with fair skin should search out a product in the silvery-white family, while girls with medium to dark complexions will glow best using a champagne-inspired hue.

With this product, apply it in the center of your top lids, pushing it up to your brow lines and down into your lash lines. For an added glow, apply a bit of the hue to your inner corners. Next, make the eyes pop by swiping on a bit of gold or bronze shadow on your top lids using a flat shadow brush for more control.

Finish the eyes wearing eyeliner on your top lids and a few coats of volumizing mascara on your top and bottom lashes.

Luscious lips
Complete the entire perfect look by first buffering your lips to remove any dead skin or other imperfections, then swipe on a layer of light pink or berry-toned lipstick in a matte finish.
