How to get away with glitter as an adult

Let's face it, all girls want a bit of bling or sparkle in their lives. Although it used to be OK to rock glitter literally all over your face, times have changed and for many fashionistas, glitter is now reserved for nail polish or special occasions like New Year's Eve. Luckily for glitter lovers everywhere, Glamour Magazine has found stars that have been able to use glitter in some of the most grown-up ways imaginable, leaving fans with hope that they can once again wear the wild products.

For a boost of color
A great way to incorporate glitter into a night on the town is to use it to bring in a unique color to your makeup. The experts at Glamour recommend finding a glittery eyeliner or eyeshadow in a deep purple hue, as this color looks lovely on all skin and eye types. To use it properly, start by applying a warm gold eyeshadow on your top lids up to the crease lines. Then rim your eyes in black eyeliner, making the product a bit thicker on top. Incorporate the glitter under your eyes by swiping on either the liner or shadow under the eyeliner on your bottom lids. This not only provides you with an unexpected pop of color, but also with the glitter you love so much.

For major drama
Glitter can be subtle and that is exactly what happens in the magazine's second look. To rock a similar trend for a night out with your friends, start by purchasing a gold eyeshadow and gold glitter. Once you have the products, it's time to get to work. First apply the muted gold eyeshadow on your top lids, mix it in with a touch of water beforehand to help the glitter layer stick on better. Apply the gold  on your entire lid and up a bit past your crease line. Next, go over the gold shadow with the glitter, but only up to the crease lines to let a bit of the shadow standout. Finish the style with mascara.

For an eye-awakening experience
Ladies looking for a less-dramatic way to bring glitter back into their lives, may want to attempt the halo style. For this angelic trend, you'll need shimmering beige and gold eyeshadow. To begin, swipe on a layer of the gold eyeshadow on your top lids up to the crease lines. Next, swipe on the shimmering beige hue on your top lids up to your brow lines and on your bottom lids all the way down to the top of your cheekbones. Connect the color on top and bottom for a gorgeous glowing effect.
