March How to weather-proof your cosmetics When it rains it pours, or at least that's how it feels when a sudden spring rainstorm ruins your hair and makeup. However, with a few simple tips your cosmetics will stay intact, allowing you to look your best no matter the weather. Be prepared. It is always a good idea to stash some loose powder, bronzer and blush in your purse for touch-ups if you get caught in a storm. Because your makeup can easily smudge in wet weather, you will need make up brushes to blend everything back together. Don't forget to carry a kabuki brush in your makeup bag to get your makeup palette back in line. Having a flat liner brush might make it easier for you to freshen up your eyeshadow palette. Brighten up. To look your best on rainy, gray days, Glamour Magazine recommends wearing an extra dab of pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. This will give your face more of a glow to compensate for the lack of sunshine outside. Make the most of your mascara. There are a number of water-proof mascaras and eyeliners on the market today, but even the best products may run or smudge in the rain. Once you are out of the rain, take a look at your eye makeup to see what you're working with. Wipe away as much of the black mess as you can, but then blend the rest to make an impromptu smoky eye.
