Halloween may be over, but that doesn't mean ladies can't change up their looks to seem more daring, bold or sassy than they felt before. A great way to add some spice to your current makeup routine is to try out a rocker-chic style. Teen Vogue recently broke down exactly how to jazz up your standard smokey eye and the look, mixed with a cool leather jacket and boots, is sure to garner some newfound attention.
Live it up with eyeliner
The key to creating this daring and sassy style is to first line your lids using a black coal-colored pencil liner. Swipe the product a bit thicker on your top lids for a more dramatic feel and smudge it a bit to give it more of an edge. Tip: Try using a makeup brush to smudge the product in a more unified manner.
Add dark eyeshadow
Once the eyeliner is set, it's time to move on to the eyeshadow. For this trend you'll need a dark, shimmering gray hue and a lighter gray color to stand out. Swipe the shadow onto your top lids starting at the inner corners and moving up to the crease lines and out to the far corners. Blend the color in with the liner at your lash lines to erase any creases. Next, add a bit of the lighter shadow on your crease lines for definition.
Make it more intense with mascara
When the eye makeup is perfect, you'll need to grab your favorite mascara and apply a few coats on your upper and lower lashes. If you're feeling even more sassy, you could try applying false lashes on top that is sure to impress your friends or that cute guy you've been crushing on.
Since your eyes are meant to be the star of the show in this style, you'll want to keep the rest of your look simple. For the cheeks, try swiping on a touch of sun-kissed bronzer or even a light peach hue from the apples of your cheeks and moving up toward your temples for a natural vibe.
Add a pop of color on your lips
Liven up your lips for this style by applying a cool red color or even a more daring tangerine tone - think of the fabulous Gwen Stefani for this look.
