Selena Gomez may be the envy of many teen girls out there for dating Justin Bieber. However, there is much more to this singer and actress than meets the eye. Teen Vogue selected Gomez as the cover girl for its September 2012 edition and the starlet opened up about her aspirations, including pursuing a fashion line and getting out of the Disney roles.
During the shoot, Gomez rocked a mix of high fashion ensembles with cozy beach attire, clothes she felt best suited her actual style. Her makeup was also simple, mainly creamy light brown lipstick on her pout and sun-kissed bronzer on her adorable cheeks. The makeup artist on set enhanced her big brown peepers by first rimming them in jet black eyeliner and then applying brown and shimmering gold eyeshadow on top for a warm smoky eye style.
Gomez opened up about the looks she wore during the shoot, saying she was excited by the selection and enjoyed working with a horse. The concept of the shoot also worked with her personal style, making her more at ease.
"It was really comfortable. It probably described my style more than any shoot I've done," Gomez told the publication.
The actress also discussed her fashion aspirations - she recently penned a deal with Kmart to market her own clothing brand - Dream Out Loud. Although she's well on her way to creating a fashion empire similar to other former child stars Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Gomez admits she doesn't want to go overboard with pricing her pieces.
"I definitely don't think I'm ready for that. It's a whole other market that feels way more intimidating," Gomez told the news outlet regarding the more high fashion world. "I've never been comfortable with saying, 'Here's a top that I'm going to sell for $350, and it's just a T-shirt.' I get sent things that are really nice, and I'm like, 'This is cute,' and I look at the tag and it's $200, I'm like, Oh my gosh, people probably think I buy it, and I don't. It's really weird."
One thing Gomez is excited about is making new music and gaining more adult roles in movies. Latino Fox News reports the actress will soon be starring in "Spring Breakers," alongside Vanessa Hudgens and James Franco.
