The fashion world recently invaded New York City, showcasing all of the hottest trends in both makeup and style. From Diane von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs to Calvin Klein and Donna Karan, anyone who is anyone in the fashion industry was showing off the goods. Refinery29 decided to go behind the scenes of some of the top runway shows this past week and fans of new makeup trends need to take notice of what hidden gems the fashion writers found. The votes are in and fresh and natural seems to be what's in our future for cosmetic styles.
Models at the Peter Som show were rocking tons of pastel - from the pops of color in their hair to their bold eye makeup. The lovely ladies looked totally laid back during the show, wearing a touch of nude lipstick on their pouts and a hint of blush on their cheeks. Som decided to keep the eyes the focus as the models donned pastel blue eyeshadow from their lash lines all the way up to their brow lines. The style was completed with a few swipes of mascara on their top lashes.
Famed designer Wu went for old Hollywood glamour for his recent NYC show. His models all rocked lovely shades ofwith gloss finishes for an ultra sophisticated shine. The lovely models also wore a natural looking on their cheeks, which were made to look more dewy with the application of Vaseline. The eyes for this show were quite simple - a touch of black eyeliner on the models top and bottom lids and gold and cream eyeshadow on top worked to soften up the sassy style.
Gurung decided to go for a more eerie, ghostly style for this event, but the models seemed to look more angelic than spooky. For this runway show models rocked a pale nude lipstick on their pouts in matte finishes. The lovely ladies then wore powdered concealer on their faces to make them look paler than their natural skin tones. He kept the ghostly-theme going on the eyes by having the models wear white and nude eyeshadow on their upper and lower lids.
Perhaps the most natural makeup at New York City Fashion Week came from designer Erin Fetherston. Models at her recent runway show looked lovely and chic wearing a pale peach lipstick on their pouts in a gloss finish. The peach style continued by way of creamsicle-toned blush on their cheeks. The eye makeup was made up of black eyeliner rimming the models' lids with the product getting spread out thicker on top. Charcoal eyeshadow coated their top lids, while the makeup artist for the show then softened the style by applying a shimmering gold hue from their crease lines and up to the brow lines.
