German designer creates silky fabric from milk

Anke Domaske, a 28-year-old German designer, designed an all-new material made entirely from milk called "Qmilch." The Huffington Post reports that the fabric feels and moves like silk, but can be washed and dried as easily as cotton. So far, Domaske has only used the fabric for her own Mademoiselle Chi Chi (MCC) clothing line, but she has big plans to mass produce the unique fabric for other designers.

"When you look at it, you can't see such a big difference, but when you wear it you feel the difference," Tatjana Berthold, a seamstress for the MCC fashion line, told the news publication.

The fabric can be spun into soft silk-like jersey or heavier, more textured material, which means that Qmilch lovers will have their choice of a wide array of different clothes and fashions.

The MCC line, even though made from milk, is anything but white. The collection focuses on bright colors and draped fabrics that create bold, eye-catching looks. When dressing to be noticed, cosmetics are just as important. Dramatic eye makeup will really make you stand out at the party, but a more subtle eye shadow will tone things down for a more casual daytime look.
