The 40th annual American Music Awards took place on November 18 and the top names in the industry were on hand to support and honor one another. Although the night was specifically about music, many celebrities including Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen and the always fabulous Gwen Stefani made sure to get noticed for their fashion and makeup trends as well.
These leading ladies rocked some fierce looks and women everywhere may want to try them on for size in anticipation of the holiday season.
Swift must have finally gotten the memo that she needs to cool it with the red makeup products, as she attended the AMAs in stunning neutrals with smokey eyes. The singer and actress dazzled in a gorgeous light peach lipstick with a clear gloss top coat. She enhanced her high cheeks by swiping on a touch of sun-kissed bronzer directly underneath her cheekbones for a natural highlighted feel. The real star of the look was her breathtaking eye makeup. Swift enhanced her blue peepers wearing a deep gray eyeshadow on her top lids to the crease lines, she then lightened the style by applying a soft, shimmering gold hue at her inner corners and above the crease lines on top. She then added a layer of black eyeliner on her top and bottom lids and finished the look with volumizing mascara.
The bold eyes worked perfectly with her gorgeous gold beaded mini dress. Swift opted to show off her long and lean legs for this style and the shimmering gold detail on the long-sleeved frock helped her stand out and shine.
Carly Rae Jepsen
The adorable Carly Rae Jepsen already stole the hearts of millions with her internet hit, "Call Me Maybe." The Canadian crooner made sure to dress up while still having fun during the ceremony, where she won in the New Artist of the Year category.
The brunette beauty enhanced her fresh face starting with light pink lipstick on her perfect pout with a layer of peach-toned gloss on top. Jepsen spiced up her cheeks rocking a peach and gold-inspired bronzer beginning on the apples of her cheeks and moving up and out toward her temples for a natural feel. The singer accentuated her blue eyes by applying a layer of dewy silver shadow on her top lids, at the inner corners and on her bottom lids as well. Jepsen then swiped on black liner on top and bottom for a bit of definition.
The fun and bright makeup paired nicely with her shimmering and sparkling halter top gown. The dress was made of a light pink fabric and was adorned with thousands of blue, gold, silver and maroon-toned sequins.
One star who is never afraid to take fashion risks or wear red lipstick is the stunning and ultra cool Gwen Stefani. The rocker, designer and mother kept her edge while attending the awards show. She made sure to switch up her look during her performance with her band No Doubt.
Stefani accentuated her gorgeous face starting with her signature red lipstick, though for this occasion the singer opted for a product with fashion forward tangerine undertones in a matte finish. Stefani enhanced her high cheeks wearing a touch of peach-toned bronzer on the apples of her cheeks and in an upward swoop directly under her cheekbones. The fair-skinned beauty added drama to her dark brown eyes wearing a cream-based gold eyeshadow with pops of pink shimmer in it. Stefani then swiped on a heavy layer of black eyeliner on top, extending the product out past her brow lines for a sleek cat eye style.
For the red carpet, Stefani turned heads in an oversized black and white blazer adorned with countless pearls creating a unique design. She paired the style with a black bra, black leather skinny jeans and modest pumps.
