Old Hollywood glamour wins at Met Gala

Stunning cosmetics and va-va-voom body-hugging gowns were on display during the recent Met Gala in New York City. Although some leading ladies went for avant-garde ensembles, bombshells like Jessica Alba and Amy Adams kept their looks classic and fantastic.

Alba and Adams both rocked similar hairstyles and makeup trends on the red carpet, as well as one-shoulder gowns. This was definitely the case of great minds think alike, as both ladies looked elegant and fashion-forward.

To achieve a similarly glamorous style for prom or even a hot date, start by finding the perfect red lipstick. Alba, who has darker skin than Adams, chose a deep red lip color in a matte finish. Adams on the other hand, played up her fair skin with a bold candy apple red lip color in a lip gloss finish.

For the cheeks, both Alba and Adams applied tons of golden brown bronzer using makeup brushes, but Adams added a dewier component by mixing in a touch of Vaseline on her cheekbones.

The eyes on these ladies is where the similarities end in terms of makeup, as Alba went for an intense smokey eye and Adams went for long, flowy lashes and light eyeshadow.

Alba updated her smokey eye, opting for deep brown and gold hues instead of the commonly used black and charcoal eyeshadow. She finished off her eye makeup with tons of mascara. Adams paired her false lashes with cream and light gold eyeshadow and dark eyeliner on her top lids.

Both gorgeous ladies wore their hair with deep side parts and big curls that shaped their stunning faces. This look totally works for all skin and hair types and is a win in terms of fashion.
