Brown, green and even blue eyeshadow palettes are relatively easy to pull off. But when it comes to the warmer end of the spectrum, certain makeup trends can be a little harder to rock. Pink or red eyeshadow is easy to mistake for redness around the eye, and few of us are willing to risk having our makeup palettes mistaken for an allergic reaction.
However, Rooney Mara has us all running for eyeshadow in shades of pink, purple and red after rocking an eggplant shade at the 27th annual Santa Barbara Film Festival Virtuosos Award Ceremony. The "Girl with a Dragon Tattoo" actress added just enough of this warm yet dark color to her lids for drama and class.
While this aubergine shade is a perfect color eyeshadow for green eyes like Mara's, it can work on any skin tone if you find the right shade. Those who look better in cool colors like blues should go for a shade with more purple, and those who look best in warm orangey colors, go for one that is more burgundy.
