Latin pop princess Shakira is the first Colombian artist to be immortalized on the star-studded Hollywood Boulevard. The Washington Post reports that hers is the 2,454th star to be dedicated on the famous road, and Shakira was prepared to stretch out across her new star and pose for pictures.
She dressed very casually for the occasion in a white blazer, black jeans and simple high-heeled ankle boots, which complemented her naturally tousled locks and subtle eye makeup, while drawing just enough attention to her pink lips.
"I would like to dedicate this to the Latin community in the U.S., a community that restlessly works and dreams and dreams and works every day to make this a better country," she said to the gathered crowd at the dedication ceremony, according to Reuters.
She reminisced about walking down the boulevard with her mother as a young child - dreaming of one day seeing her name among the stars. Now her dream has come true, and Shakira joins the ranks of other Latin stars that have been given the honor, such as Ricky Martin and Christina Aguilera.
