Newly engaged Anne Hathaway recently showed up to the New York City premiere of The Iron Lady looking quiet ladylike and sophisticated.
The black turtleneck knee-length gown she modeled was surprising and chic. The length of the dress worked to elongate her toned body, while the turtleneck added a touch of femininity to the otherwise dark and hardened look. The turtleneck also added some dimension to the dress as it juxtaposed the fact that the dress was sleeveless - a rather uncommon pairing.
Hathaway added minimal accessories to the look - her new engagement ring (obviously), black pointed-toe pumps, a black envelope clutch and stud earrings. Because her overall ensemble was so understated, she was able to go for a bold look with her cosmetics. Hathaway chose a deep red lipstick in a matte finish and blush in a shade of rosy red mixed with bronzer. Her big brown eyes stood out by using jet black eyeliner on her upper and lower lids as well as eyeshadow in shades of brown and gold. Thick mascara helped elongate her lashes. Keeping her face the focal point, Hathaway kept her dark hair up in a slicked-back bun.
