Applying makeup made easy

When it comes to cosmetics, some ladies are able to apply the latest trend with ease, while others struggle to simply put on lip gloss. Those in the latter group have no fear, the style experts at Glamour Magazine are here to help.

For the makeup-challenged, Glamour recently broke down a few simple steps to achieving the perfect makeup, starting with hiding dark circles.

Dark circles can pop up when you've been up late studying for a test or any other time you're feeling run down. To hide these, apply concealer under your eyes in little strips using makeup brushes. Then blend the product using your ring finger. Next, add a base coat on your entire face to hide any blemishes or imperfections. If you want a more sun-kissed feel, mix in a bit of bronzer with the face primer along your cheekbones and above your brows.

Once your face is prepped, it's time to move on to blush. Always apply blush on the apples of your cheeks. The best way to find the apples is to smile - feel around for the bumps that feel round, like apples. Next apply your favorite shade and then blend the color up toward your temples using your fingers or makeup brushes. Bold colors like shades in the berry family can look natural while also standing out.

Moving on to the eyes, start by applying eye primer on your upper lids, Try to find a base shade that has a bit of shimmer to help create a lightness around your eyes. Glamour suggests that girls with fair skin use a silvery white shade, while ladies with medium to dark skin try a champagne-toned color. Once the primer is evenly spread, it's time to have some fun with eyeshadow. If this is going to be your everyday makeup, it's best to stick to with a neutral eyeshadow palette. Bronze and golds look great on most skin types and may be the perfect combo. Start by applying the bronze hue in your creases using a flat liner brush and then smudge it downward on your lids. Next, add the gold eyeshadow down the center of your lids and put a bit on your bottom lids as well. Finish the eyes with volumizing mascara.

For lush lips, start by wiping off dead skin with a warm face cloth and apply a moisturizing lip balm. Then find a natural, light pink lip color and mix it in with your finger. Add some gloss to take the look from day to night. InStyle Magazine reports ladies can also try a nude lipstick shade for a great daytime feel. Just make sure to go a bit brighter than your skin tone to avoid looking washed out.
