Face Makeup Tricks & How-To's (285)
Help your eye makeup last

There is perhaps nothing worse for fashionistas than applying lovely eye makeup at the beginning of the day only to find it's nearly worn off by lunchtime. This fashion pain in the neck is something many ladies face on a regular basis, and it's time for girls to stand up and say "we're sick of it!" Allure magazine feels the struggle and thankfully laid down the groundwork for applying and keeping eye makeup in place.

Base is best
One of the most important steps in keeping the eyes dazzling from 8 to 5 (or even longer) is to start with a proper base. Some ladies may assume eye primers are a waste of money, but in reality these products keep colors right where they're meant to be. If you'd rather not splurge on primer, you can substitute the product, opting instead to use your go-to concealer or cover-up. Simply swipe a layer of the base coat on your top lids using a makeup sponge or your finger and then wait a minute or two to let the product set.

Try cream-based eyeshadow
Most ladies love using powdered eyeshadow and although these are nice, they may not be the best option by themselves when you're trying to make a look last. Instead, fashionistas should pair their powder hues with cream-based shadows to help the powder stand out and last. Apply a layer of the cream shadow in a hue that closely matches your skin tone on your top lids first. Next, apply your powder shadow of choice, the layer of cream will help the powder hue stay in place and look fabulous all day or night.

Set it and forget it
After the eyeshadow is perfect, it's time for the finishing touch - the bronzer. That's right, the experts at Allure report setting the eyes by dusting the eye area with a bronzer product adds yet another layer of hold to the makeup. Plus, using warm tones on your eyes and the rest of your face will help to give off a stunning glow that helps you stand apart from everyone else.

Finish off the lovely look with a bit of eyeliner on your top and bottom lids and a few coats of mascara on your lashes to enhance your peepers to the max.
