New York City Fashion Week may now be over, which means it is time for fashionistas everywhere to begin honing in on their favorite looks from the recent shows. Glamour Magazine reports the models at the Monique Lhuillier runway show certainly stood out and the fab blue-toned makeup is perfect for ladies to try now, or in spring.
To achieve this blue, gold and cream style, you'll need to pick up bold eyeshadow hues and primer to keep each color in place.
How to begin
For the first step in this fabulous and fashion-forward style, prep your entire face, using your go-to concealer or light foundation to cover up any imperfections. Then apply a touch of primer on your top lids and let the product sit for between one and two minutes to let it set.
Enhance your cheeks by adding a touch of highlighter underneath your cheekbones using your fingers and then blend the product into your face and back toward the hairline. To add a sassy ladylike feel, swipe on a layer of light pink blush on the apples of your cheeks and voila! your face will glow.
Transforming your peepers
The eyes are the real star of this look, so it's important to take your time in order to have it come out right. Begin by applying a swipe of robin's egg blue eyeliner on your top lids, blend the hue into the crease lines so it becomes lighter and thinner. Move on to the bolder blue eyeshadow and apply it using a brush starting from the lash lines on the top lids and moving it upward to the crease lines. Be sure to put on a few coats in order for it to stand out.
Enhance your eyes even more by using another brush to apply metallic gold eyeshadow at the inner corners of your eye and then sweep the product outward toward the middle of your top lids. Blend the two hues together a bit for a modern finish.
The ladies at Glamour stopped the look here, but if you're in the mood for more drama, you can continue to make the style exactly like the models at the recent show. For the finishing touch, apply a metallic white or cream eyeliner on your bottom lash lines and mix it in with the gold hue at the inner corners. Finish off this version wearing tons of mascara.
