False eyelashes are one of the most handy tools to give your eyes instant drama and volume. Even if your lashes are naturally long and thick, there are so many varieties of falsies that you can easily change your look to be more glamourous or more flirty. However, you can go wrong. Here are some ways to make sure you get your fringe right with these cosmetics.
Glamour Magazine recently reported on Jennifer Love Hewitt's false lashes at the launch party for The Client List. Her black falsies were so thick, the actress looked like she could hardly open her eyes. This fuzzy caterpillar look is not exactly what you are looking for when you want to add a little drama to your eye makeup palette.
Limit the fringe. Choose a look, and stick to it. False eyelashes come in thick and long varieties, but doing both could be a little much. For a more natural look, choose a thin variety like BH Cosmetics' False Eyelashes "Natural." These will give you length and just enough thickness once you apply mascara.
Line it. Never skip eyeliner if you are wearing false eyelashes. Whether you choose liquid or pencil liner, a nice thick line along your upper lash line will help hide the base of the false lashes and blend it into the eyeshadow palette you choose.
Stay neutral. Whether you chose flirty individual lashes on the outer corners of your eyes or are going for a thick fringe, keep the rest of your eye makeup relatively neutral. Smokey eyeshadow palettes can work if you keep your blush, bronzer and lip color neutral. Stay away from bright colors and instead choose a shimmery shades the color of your skin tone.
