Everyone's gossiping about Blake Lively's look at the Museum of Modern Art's fourth annual film benefit in New York City as her bold outfit has warranted a lot of negative feedback.
The dress itself had more patterns, textures and accessories than her heavily-adorned wrists. The grey Chanel number had a sleeveless, checkered top with big buttons and a matching belt that divided it from the feathers that jutted out over a tight, darker grey skirt. Even with such a busy dress, the Gossip Girl didn't stop accessorizing. She added a slew of bracelets, gaudy too-big earrings and rings that just added to the confusion.
The one thing that Blake did get right on the red carpet was her makeup. Her eye shadow was a subtle, light gray that made her green eyes pop, and a nearly nude lip color gave her the natural look that her outfit was lacking. It didn't help that Blake chose to don dark tights and ankle boots that HolyMoly.com called "icky."
One lesson that can be learned from the actress' faux pas is that simplicity is key. If you're wearing something striking like her Chanel dress, you should tone down the accessories and opt for more subtle eye makeup.
