Red lips equal drama

Some runway looks are way too over the top for even the most fashion forward divas. However, the lovely cosmetics modeled at the Monique Lhuillier runway show is perfect example of makeup that can be worn in everyday life, Glamour Magazine reports.

According to the source, models at this show donned bold, ruby red lipstick in a matte finish and minimalist makeup on their cheeks and eyes. Although this look may seem simple and a bit been-there-done-that, the style is anything but ordinary.

To achieve this look, start by applying a base concealer or foundation all over your face using makeup brushes. This preps the skin and evens out any imperfections. Next, get an eyeshadow palette that has a few shades of light cream or tan to locate a color that best suits your skin tone. When you find one that is a bit lighter than your own shade, apply the color on your entire lids - this will help brighten your eyes up. Add a touch of mascara to complete the eyes.

For your cheeks, the magazine suggests adding a bit of tangerine toned bronzer or blush to the "hollows of the cheekbones." Once this subtle addition is in place, it's time to apply the show-stopper.

The red lip color you should look for needs to be bold, bright and rich in texture. After selecting the right product apply it, dab and then apply a second layer to really stand out.

Elle Magazine reports that ladies looking to take a walk on the wild side might opt to try a scarlet red lip color with similar eye and cheek makeup for a darker, more dramatic approach.
