Sick of Sparkle? Stick to an all-matte look

Sparkly eyeshadow is perfect when you're hanging out with friends or want to add a bit of a "wow" factor to your look. But sometimes, you want your eye makeup to be a bit understated. This is the time to pull out your matte eyeshadows and pencils.

Matte makeup is perfect for school – it's not too flashy but you'll still look good enough to pass by your crush's locker with confidence!

Natural – For a natural clean-face look, you'll want to use a light touch. Apply concealer to cover any blemishes or dark spots under your eyes. Then dust your face with a light powder. Earthy shades work best. Take a brown eye pencil and trace lightly around your eyes. Next, finish with a swipe of a lightweight mascara.

Smoky eye – A subtle smoky eye can work well for school too. To achieve this look, first follow the concealer and powder foundation step as above. Next, take out a dark gray powder and black eyeliner. Apply the shadow to your lids and blend upward. Then, add the liner to the edge of your top lid and use a blending brush to mix it into the black. If you want to layer colors, choose an even deeper gray to apply in your crease. Finish with a light coating of mascara and you're done.
